2014 Chevrolet Sonic


The 2014 Chevrolet Sonic receives some welcome upgrades like a rearview camera, a lane departure warning system and a forward collision warning system. The 5-passenger Chevrolet Sonic is offered in two body styles- sedan and hatchback. Each is available in LS, LT and LTZ trim levels. The hatchback adds a sporty RS model to the mix.

LS standard equipment includes 15-inch steel wheels, automatic headlights, keyless entry, power door locks, AC, Bluetooth® and a 4-speaker sound system with steering wheel-mounted audio controls and an auxiliary jack. A 6-speaker sound system and Chevrolet’s MyLink system which adds a touchscreen interface and connectivity to Pandora Radio services through your smartphone are both optional.

The mid-level LT gets 15-inch alloy wheels and adds power windows, heated power mirrors, cruise control, a remote starting system, deluxe cloth upholstery, and a 6-speaker sound system with Bluetooth® streaming audio capability, satellite radio and an iPod/USB interface. Opting for the LT hatchback will get you a rear cargo shelf as well. An optional Wheel s and Foglamp Package is available on this trim level which will add, you guessed it, 16-inch alloy wheels and fog lights. Chevrolet’s Mylink system is also optional on this trim level however it deletes the CD player. A sunroof is available as part of the LT Promotional Package.

Stepping up to the Sonic LTZ will add 17-inch alloy wheels, fog lights, chrome exterior trim pieces, athe rearview camera, leatherette seating surfaces with heated front seats, a leather wrapped steering wheel and Chevrolet’s MyLink system.

The sportier Sonic RS (hatchback only) gets all of the above equipment plus a sport-tuned suspension, exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels, sporty exterior accents, a sport steering wheel and leather/faux suede seating surfaces. A sunroof is also optional on this trim level. It also gets a turbocharged 1.4-liter 4-cylinder engine as standard.

Standard safety features across the board includes 10 airbags, stability and traction control, antilock brakes with brake assist and electronic brake force distribution, hill start assist, daytime running lights, a tire pressure monitoring system and Onstar® with a 6 month Directions and Connections® plan.

Prices for the 2014 Chevrolet Sonic start at just $14,770 and top out at $20,325 making it a great choice for budget conscious shoppers.
