The 2015 Nissan Maxima offers tons of features that everyone is looking for
2015 Nissan Maxima Reviews and Ratings
The Nissan Maxima has become one of the most recognized sports sedans on the market. While the 2015 Nissan Maxima is relatively large in size, most people will still find the full-size sedan to be quite entertaining to drive. Loaded with a number of upscale features, the Maxima is an outstanding choice for the drivers who love taking road trips. Due to the fact that a redesigned Maxima is scheduled to hit the streets in 2016, very few changes have been made to the current version.
What’s new on the Maxima?
The SV trim now sports a rear-view camera system and a seven-inch display screen. The Maxima SV also features USB connectivity. While these changes are not major, they are welcomed additions for the drivers who want to get the most features for their money.
All Maxima models come equipped with a punchy 3.5-liter, V-6 Engine. Over the years, this engine has received several awards for its outstanding design. With a total output of 290 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque, the Maxima pulls strong in all driving situations. During acceleration testing, the fleet-footed sedan was able to race to 60 mph in only six seconds. Although a manual gearbox is not offered, the continuous variable transmission does a good job of transferring the power to the front wheels. Fuel economy stands at 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the freeway.
As expected, the 2015 Maxima relies on a set of anti-lock disc brakes to provide the necessary stopping power. The tire pressure monitoring system is yet another convenient feature that comes standard. While the Maxima does provide good crash protection, its four-star safety rating is trumped by some of the other cars in its class. Some of the other available safety enhancements include an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and integrated turn signal mirrors.
The 2015 Maxima is only available in two trim levels. However, even the base S model comes strapped with plenty of features. Some of the standout items include a sunroof, dual-zone climate control, an eight-speaker sound system, and key-less ignition.
The Maxima SV is clearly the most featured-packed model. Not only does the interior come furnished with leather seats, but it also features a seven-inch touch-screen display. Some of the other standard goodies include an upgraded driver’s seat and USB connectivity. If desired, you can also step up to a high-powered Bose audio system.
If you opt for the S Value package, the sedan will be outfitted with several exterior enhancements. Some of the cool features include smoked Xenon headlights, a rear spoiler, and a set of dark silver wheels. The S Value package also includes a special grille that gives the Maxima a more aggressive appearance.
Meanwhile, the Cold package is a major benefit to the drivers who live in a cold weather region. This package brings heated seats, heated mirrors, and a heated steering wheel.
Featuring a sports-tuned suspension system, the Sport package enhances the Maxima’s handling on the road. A set of 19-inch performance wheels also come with the Sport package. The Technology package adds a few more goodies, including navigation and Bluetooth phone connectivity.
Prices start at around $31,000 for a base S model. However, a fully-loaded SV model can cost nearly $37,000.
What’s to like about the 2015 Maxima?
If you are looking for a large sedan with a sporty edge, the Maxima may be able to fulfill your needs. The strong V-6 engine will certainly provide the necessary power. The Maxima also delivers impressive handling on the road, especially when equipped with the sports-tuned suspension system. On the inside, the Maxima exudes a high-quality vibe throughout the entire cabin. Unlike some of the other sedans in its class, the Maxima provides easy-to-use controls.
